At Everbright Dental, one of our primary goals is to create positive dental experiences for children every time they visit our Raymond Terrace dental clinic. Many adults who struggle with fear, anxiety, or phobia about their dental visits report that it stems from bad experiences they had at their dentist as a child.
That's why it's essential to teach children the dentist is a welcoming and friendly place here to help them achieve a healthy and happy smile. Here are a few ways we help your little one feel comfortable when they visit Everbright Dental.
#1 Start Dental Care Early On
Early visits to the dentist help your little one begin to build rapport with our team while we can begin monitoring their dental health and development. Children can have their first visit as soon as their first teeth erupt or by the time they turn one.
These early visits will mostly focus on examining and counting their teeth and helping them feel comfortable in the dental chair. As they get older, we'll incorporate teeth cleans and x-rays so we have a baseline for monitoring their smile.
#2 Use the Tell, Show, Do Method
We never want to rush children into any procedure that makes them feel uncomfortable or they're not ready for. That's why we use the tell, show, do method if your little one needs a dental procedure.
First, we tell them about the procedure, why they need it, and how it will benefit their smile. Next, we show them the tools we will use to complete the procedure. When they feel at ease and comfortable, we'll move forward with doing the procedure.
#3 Focus on Fun!
Our entire team works together to ensure that every child's visits to Everbright Dental are fun and upbeat. We always want them to leave with a smile on their face!
We welcome your call to our Kurri Kurri dental clinic if it's time for your child's next booking.
