You finally invested in your smile restoration and couldn’t be happier, but now you want to maintain your results and keep your smile beautiful for as long as possible.
Of course, aftercare will vary based on the work you’ve had done, but there are a few universal aftercare instructions to consider. These are tips to follow no matter your treatment.
- Continue seeing your Kurri Kurri or Raymond Terrace dentist regularly for check-ups.
- Brush and floss your teeth regularly, preferably after every meal or at least twice daily.
- Report any oral health changes to your dentist, including tooth sensitivity or loose restorations.
- Always call us if you have questions about your new smile. We’re happy to help.
Maintaining Your New Smile Following Treatment
Restorations like crowns, veneers, and tooth-coloured fillings don’t require aftercare. However, it’s essential to brush and floss as usual and continue seeing your dentist.
We recommend cleaning beneath the dental bridges with a floss threader or water floss to clear debris from the gumline. You must also clean the bridge to avoid bad breath and oral infections. We can recommend a special cleaning brush.
It’s essential to soak dentures in a denture bath and rinse them periodically throughout the day. You can also use a special denture polish. However, we urge you not to use regular fluoride toothpaste on prosthetics, as it can damage the aesthetic.
With dentures, it’s important to see your dentist regularly for denture checks and relines. Relines restore the snug fit when the prosthetic starts to loosen.
Restoring your smile is about aesthetics, but a complete smile also contributes positively to oral health and digestion.
